Canine Barbers Dog Grooming was founded in 2000.
Previous to working in the dog grooming industry, I was lucky enough to be
able to gain more than enough experience working in various Rescue Centres throughout Essex.
My qualifications and grooming training were gained at Caythorpe Agriculture College in Lincolnshire.
Dog grooming is a profession that I really enjoy. Having had lots of previous experience in working with rescue dogs, this was a real benefit to help deal with temperaments and behaviour, and the understanding of dogs' minds. .This is the career that I had wished for, so after completing a business plan, i was awarded a start up loan from The Princes Youth Business Trust and
Canine Barbers Dog Grooming was born!
Furthering my career in 2000, Canine Barbers was one of the small businesses winning a Live Wire award, which was a cash award for one of the most successful business for young people!
In 2002 I was winning the most successful small business for the Royal Bank of Scotland!
For the past 4 years i have also been teaching dog grooming at
Otley College, Suffolk.

After teaching Dog Grooming for a number of years, I have firm and practiced methods of the best way of learning the trade. It is more or less based on 90% practical experience, with a small amount of theory work covered. At all times there will be a maximum of four students, so very much a highly focused method of one to one tuition is given. I am devoted to teaching to the highest of standards that I practice in my own work as a Canine Beautician contributing to the rising success of my own business Canine Barbers Dog Grooming.
We aim to cater for the complete novice groomer up to a more experienced groomer wanting to inprove thier skills.
We can also offer bespoke training courses, giving you the opportunity to design your own grooming programme.
